Frequently Asked Questions

If you are worried about milk supply, you can definitely start eating these cookies on your delivery day. Of course they are also perfect for whenever you notice a dip in supply!
Every breastfeeding mother is different, so you can consume as many or as few as you’re comfortable with. However, we recommend consuming 2 – 3 cookies on the first and second day, 2 cookies on the third and fourth day and 1 cookie per day going forward. Repeat during week two or whenever you feel that you need too!
I noticed a difference within a day of eating these cookies, and most moms see an increase within 2 or 3 days. We suggest giving it a week to see results, keeping in mind it also depends on how many you eat.

We recommend eating them 3-5 hours before you’d like to see an increase. If you were looking for more production around 9am, have a cookie for an early breakfast around 5am. If you were looking for a greater supply before bedtime at 10pm, we recommend a cookie for a mini after-dinner dessert at 6pm. It takes a little bit of trial and error to figure out what time works best for you!

Mommy’s Cookie Jar cookies are sealed in packs of two that keep new packages fresh for up to a month. Once opened, they can be frozen for up to six months.

Try eating less cookies, as you may only need to eat one a day to increase your supply.
Believe it or not, we get this question a lot! And the answer is NO!! There is no actual breast milk in lactation cookies, just ingredients that are known to increase Mom’s milk supply.

Our cookies contain galactagogues, ingredients that help promote milk production, namely, oatmeal, flaxseed, and brewer’s yeast.

Just like any food, it’s best to enjoy the cookies in moderation! Aside from weight gain, eating too much of anything can actually create gaps in your diet, which is why it’s important to eat a variety of foods.
